[Jabreilles] le retour du retable(the reredos is back)

Le retable est revenu de restauration, dans notre petite église de Jabreilles. Il est magnifique et touchant de naïveté. J'ai passé une bonne partie de la matinée à le photographier sous tous les angles - heureusement, j'avais pensé à apporter un pied. La tentation était forte de centrer cette vue d'ensemble, mais j'y ai résisté, profitant de la lumière qui tombait sur un christ dans la travée. Une bonne idée, je pense...

The colors and lighting in this photo are so excellent! The patina and age of the space are evident and the rich colors just say old, old, old. Wonderful!
What a wonderful place. You have captured it well. I find taking pictures inside a church that its difficult to capture the essence of the place. Including the area on the right of the photo was an excellent choice in composition.
Thank you for your comments. It is actualy a very, very old church(roman period), in a very very small village. Obviously, my first propensy was to take a symmetrical, closer shot. But, searching for a peculiar balance, I decided to break the symmetry and finaly choosed to confront the warm golden light, falling on the altar to the cold white light on the crucifix. I'm very glad you appreciate.

Je connais Jabreilles, ma famille maternelle en étant originaire . C'est un endroit trés calme où j'aime à aller me resourcer, en particulier quand l'automne est là
